A very blustery day.

It has been super windy and chilly, in the 50's and a tiny bit rainy. I wonder if it will help or hinder my gardening efforts? So far nothing has blown away! I keep finding random things in the yard. Paper plates, trash, zip ties. Lovely.

Tiny Tomatoes

After I thinned the squash I planted some marigolds (natural pest repellents). I also planted some basil seeds and poppy seeds, just for fun:)

On April 2nd I was watering my garden and saw two tiny shoots poking up out of the ground! Hooray!

Then I was gazing at my tomato flowers dreaming of when they would become tomatoes and I saw that something was wrong! There were little growths coming out of my flowers! Haha, they were teeny tiny tomatoes! Wow, I reallllly do not know what I am doing. I hope they keep growing!

Squash

On March 30th I thinned out my squash plants

I kept one little guy and planted him on the other side of the yard to see how plants would do over there.

Around March 14 or 15 my mom was visiting and noticed little shoots coming up! I almost cried to see that my little seeds had grown!

My first try

Now that we had our own little yard I wanted to try growing some stuff. I am keeping this blog as a journal so that I can keep record of my experiment.

March 3rd 2011 I planted two tomato plants and 5 squash seeds.
